The Good Trip Tour made a stop in Lincoln, NE Friday, April 21st to light it up at Pinnacle Bank Arena and boy was it lit. The Good Trip Tour presented by Smokers Club featured Smoke DIA, Chevy Woods, Berner, Joey Bada$$, and Wiz Khalifa to top off the night. Sadly this review wasn't as long as it was supposed to be. Pinnacle Bank Arena we love you but boy do you need to get better at handling the press. Take lessons from literally any other venue in Nebraska. Nobody seems to be on the same page there. We arrived before the show started only to be stuck at the Will Call booth waiting for someone to escort us down to the photo pit area to begin taking photos and reviewing the show. It wasn't until the third set halfway through it that we finally got in. They took the camera and we could only watch the last two songs of Berners set by the time we had to meet back up to get into the photo pit where we would finally get the camera back and could shoot some shots. Rinse and repeat. Then after the third song during Wiz Khalifa's set, they kicked everyone out of the venue. Unfortunately because of the way Pinnacle Bank Arena handled that night, we were unable to review the show in its entirety. It's to a point now where most of us can count on issues when working on a show. But I digress. Random bitch vent over.

Smoke filled the air as the inside was green-lit with good vibes, dope grooves, and songs we all knew. It was 4/21 but Wiz and crew brought the 4/20 vibes to the capital city. By the time we got inside however Berners set was almost over then it was off to Joey Bada$$.

Joey Bada$$ brought it Friday night. Joey Bada$$ is an American rapper, singer, and actor. He is best known for his debut mixtape, 1999, which was released in 2012. The mixtape was critically acclaimed and helped to revive the East Coast hip-hop scene. Joey Bada$$ has since released two studio albums, B4.Da.$$ (2015) and All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ (2017). He has also appeared in several films, including Mr. Robot (2015-2019) and Wu-Tang: An American Saga (2019-present). Joey Bada$$ is known for his introspective lyrics, his jazzy production, and his old-school hip-hop aesthetic. He is considered one of the most promising young rappers in the game."I appreciate all of the love out there. You could have been anywhere in the world tonight but you chose to be with us." After the first three songs, we got a bit silent giving a tribute to the fallen soldiers of Hip Hop. "My name may be Joey Bada$$ but we like to celebrate love. Where are my couples at?!" Joey said to the crowd to bring up the house lights and search for couples in the crowd to be featured on the Kiss Cam. "Love is a mothafuckin feelin'! At times I thought we'd never make it. Did you get a joint? Did you get a cell phone? I need you to light up this mothafucka!" then the crowd got out their lighters and/or cellphones to light up the arena in a moment of reflection and an end to the set with 'Love Is Only a Feelin' from the 2017 release. Yes, even in Nebraska Joey Bada$$ felt the love Hip Hop and his music brought even to the Cornhusker state that night. Joey Bada$$ heads overseas making stops in the United Kingdom, Belgium, The Netherlands, France Ireland, Portugal, Germany, and Switzerland, then back to Chicago, IL for this year's Lollapalooza. The lights went down and Wiz Khalifa came out to 'No Sleep' off of 2011's album 'Rolling Papers' wearing a new custom fresh Nebraska Adidas button-up (but unbuttoned) holding a long fat Khalifa Kush filled blunt dawning a diamond-studded 'Taylor Gang' medallion. Wiz Khalifa is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. Khalifa has released seven studio albums, with his most recent being "Rolling Papers 2" in 2018. He has won numerous awards, including a Grammy Award for Best Rap Song for "See You Again" in 2015. Khalifa is known for his laid-back style of rapping and his stoner anthems. He is also a successful entrepreneur, with his clothing line, Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Gang, and his cannabis brand, Khalifa Kush. You could tell by his smile he couldn't believe how popular his music had become in Nebraska. Even more smoke filled the air and the crowd was vibing out to the party he had brought to town. Wiz Khalifa and the crew brought a moment that night we all needed. It was indeed a party all night long. The Good Trip Tour ends on April, 22nd at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO. Chevy Woods comes back to Nebraska at the UNK Health & Sports Center at the University of Nebraska-Kearney campus with Yung Gravy at the University of Nebraska-Kearney campus. Make sure to be on the lookout for our sit-down interview with Chevy Woods we did during this last stop in Lincoln which will be posted soon! This week Gallery Space Media will be in the house once again for The Revolutions Live Tour featuring: Ashes to New, Three Days Grace, and Shinedown on April, 25th and Pinnacle Bank Arena.
