Big Gigantic Brighter Future Tour Vol II - Reviewed

On a vibrant Sunday night in Lincoln, NE, The Bourbon Theatre was alive with an electrifying energy that was filled with patchouli, neon, love, and good vibes, as Big Gigantic and their Brighter Future Tour Vol II came to town. The show also featured special guests AHEE and EASYBAKED, who all contributed to the incredible atmosphere.


The night began with AHEE taking the stage, and as the lights dimmed, the mothership landed, and the audience was ready to embark on a sonic journey. The redwood Californian man-fish himself kicked off the night with an epic cinematic mashup of Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture," greeting the crowd with the words, "What's good aliens?!" AHEE continued to amaze the crowd with his wide variety of EDM mashups, remixes, and original tracks. AHEE finishes out the rest of the Brighter Futures Vol II tour in March plays two nights at The Armory in Minneapolis, MN on 3/3 and 3/4 then heads to Atlanta, GA to rock the Coco Cola Roxy on 3/18 followed by a stop in Santa Barbara, CA at Live Oak Camp Map, Red Rocks in Morrison, CO on 4/14 and finishing out his dates in Sebastopol, CA at HopMonk Tavern on 5/6.

EASYBAKED took over and carried the vibe forward, making this their last performance on the tour. EASYBAKED is an up-and-coming electronic dance music (EDM) DJ and producer from Los Angeles, California. He's been making waves in the EDM scene with his unique blend of melodic house and progressive house. EASYBAKED has been said to be one of the most promising new talents in the EDM scene, and his music is sure to continue to gain popularity in the years to come. The set featured a blend of old and new tracks, including some new music and collaborations not yet released. The duo brought the bass to the full house in attendance, and the energy in the room was undeniable. EASYBAKED is set to perform at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, CA on 2/25 and at Bama Slam Water Park and Campground in New Brockton, AL on May 5th.

Finally, Big Gigantic took the stage, and the crowd was ready for an unforgettable performance. Big Gigantic is an American electronic dance music duo from Boulder, Colorado. The group consists of Dominic Lalli (saxophone, keyboards, production) and Jeremy Salken (drums, percussion, production). Big Gigantic is known for its unique sound, which blends electronic dance music with live instrumentation. The group has released four studio albums, including their most recent album, Brighter Future, which was released in 2018. Big Gigantic has toured extensively throughout the United States and internationally collaborating with a variety of artists, including Gramatik, Griz, and Logic.

Their set last night included a plethora of hits from the past, as well as several unreleased tracks that they debuted for those in attendance Sunday night. The audio-visual show was incredible and lit the theatre in such a way that the audience was transported into a different dimension. Big Gigantic played several unreleased tracks in between bangers from their 2016 album "Brighter Futures," the deluxe version of "Brighter Future" in 2017, and "Brighter Future 2" released in 2022. After a two-day break, the Brighter Future Tour Vol II resumed on February 22nd with special guests TVBOO and AHEE, making stops in Albuquerque, Tucson, Las Vegas, and San Diego, and ending in Flagstaff, AZ on February 26th.

Big Gigantic will also be playing two nights at Boettcher Concert Hall in Denver, CO, with the Colorado Symphony and several unannounced special guests on March 17th and 18th. Overall, it was an incredible night at The Bourbon Theatre, filled with phenomenal performances by AHEE, EASYBAKED, and Big Gigantic. The energy in the room was palpable, and the audience was left wanting more. It was truly a night to remember, and fans of EDM will not want to miss the Brighter Future Tour Vol II.
